Harold Greene is a retired, award-winning television journalist best known for his decades-long career as a news anchor in Southern California, particularly in Los Angeles. Greene began his career in 1970 as a reporter and producer at KABC-TV in Los Angeles. In 1973, he helped launch the news operations at KCST-TV (now KNSD) in San Diego, serving as anchor and news director. He later moved to KGTV, where his co-anchoring with Jack White and coverage of the Chicano Movement helped the station briefly overtake rival KFMB in the ratings.

In 1977, Greene had a brief stint at KPIX-TV in San Francisco before returning to Los Angeles to co-anchor KABC-TV’s Eyewitness News alongside Jerry Dunphy. After two years, he was let go but returned to KABC in 1982, where he found greater success. During this period, he hosted programs like Hollywood Close-Up and A.M. In 2001, Greene joined KCBS-TV, where he reunited with former KABC colleagues Ann Martin, Laura Diaz, and Johnny Mountain. Though a station source indicated both anchors had elected to retire, neither Greene nor Martin made any official comment.

Personal Life
