Kacey Montoya is an Emmy Award-winning journalist and general assignment reporter for KTLA 5 News in Los Angeles, where she has been working since June 2013.
Born on June 24, 1981, in Orange County, California, Montoya was raised in Dallas, Texas. She pursued her higher education at California State University, Northridge (CSUN), earning a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism. Began her journalism career at WOAY-TV in Oak Hill, West Virginia. She then worked at the CBS affiliate in Palm Springs, California, for over three years, followed by more than six years at KOIN-TV in Portland, Oregon, where she served as an anchor and reporter. In June 2013, she joined KTLA 5 News as a general assignment reporter. Since then, she has also taken on roles as a fill-in anchor and weathercaster.
