Broadcasting Career
Machado was one of the first Asian-American television news anchors in the U.S.

He worked for KNXT (now KCBS-TV) in Los Angeles

prominent in the 1970s.

Acting Career
He often portrayed a newscaster or host in films and TV shows.

“Robocop” (1987) and its sequels, playing the recurring role of news anchor Casey Wong.

“Scarface” (1983) – as an interviewer.

“Brian’s Song” (1971) – as a sportscaster. Machado was a trailblazer for Asian-Americans in media and helped break stereotypes in Hollywood.

He was also an advocate for education and media representation.

He passed away on May 4, 2013, at the age of 78.
