Michael Brownlee

Michael Brownlee is an Emmy Award-winning journalist and co-anchor for NBC4 Los Angeles (KNBC), where he leads the station’s 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. newscasts. Since joining NBC4 in 2011, Brownlee has become a trusted presence in LATVnews, known for his engaging delivery and commitment to community-focused storytelling.(The Whois Bio)

Raised in San Diego, California, Brownlee was inspired by his parents, both of whom worked in television. His early fascination with broadcasting led him to earn a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism from San Diego State University. He began his career in radio promotions before transitioning to television in 1995 as a general assignment reporter at the NBC affiliate in Yuma, Arizona. Prior to joining NBC4, Brownlee held various roles in Los Angeles media, including general assignment reporter and weekend anchor for My13News, fill-in anchor and reporter for the KCOP/KTTV duopoly, and a three-year stint as a general assignment reporter at CBS2.
